Miami Hotels
As the lockdown continued we could only imagine where we might want to travel to find inspiration for our SS22 collection. We landed on the idea that an architectural trip would be interesting. The iconic 1930’s hotels of Miami and the incredible buildings of Freddy Mamani in El Alto, Bolivia, seemed to be a great starting point. We got hooked and found ourselves immersed in two distinct styles. In Miami, symmetry reigned whilst in El Alto the colours and irregular shapes shouted. We start our SS22 Journal with a look at the iconic hotels of Miami.
The lightness of Rae is a reflection of Miami’s fabulous light, we were inspired by architectural columns, replicating staircases, shadows and shapes. A Cheetah sits in the shade of a palm tree whilst a monkey swings happily on a branch of brightly coloured fuchsia.
We use pastel tones of soft yellows and ochers enriched with limes, and add an accent of glorious fuchsia to evoke this scene.
