MUSE

Alexander Calder

I still vividly remember my muse, Alexander Calders' retrospective exhibition at the Tate a few years ago. Rooms filled with beautiful wire mobiles, made up of coloured shapes, often painted in black or red. They all seemed to float effortlessly in space.

These wire mobiles often come up in conversation with Chloƫ during our design process, when we are thinking about abstract shapes.

His balanced use of discs, spheres and curved arcs are always a source of inspiration for us.

Our Agnes scarf, shown here in Indigo, is a representation of those conversations and Calder inspired shapes. This graphic design is a balancing of scale, colour and repetitive, an homage to Alexander Calder and his work.
